TERENGGANU INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS CONFERENCE (TIBÉC)

The Convergence of Digitalization and Sustainability

TERENGGANU INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS CONFERENCE(TIBÉC VII)

Theme TiBÉC VIII:

“The Convergence of Digitalization and Sustainability”

It is past time for businesses to consider their sustainability initiatives effectively. Governments, shareholders, employees, and consumers all desire firms to integrate sustainability elements into their decision-making processes in the parameter of people, planet and profit. Digitisation supports sustainability, whereas sustainability requires digitisation in the roadmap; both are significant socioeconomic trends. The nexus of both disciplines provide outstanding, unmet opportunities to advance the transition to sustainable development (Osburg and Lohrmann, 2017). In 2020, nearly all organisations have escalated their digital transformation efforts. Businesses that invest in sustainability typically have enhanced resiliency, superior operational performance, and commercial success. COVID-19 has also revealed our vulnerability to a vast array of global hazards. The fast digitalisation spurred by COVID-19 affords us the opportunity to rethink how we make decisions and utilise technology in innovative and significant ways. Today's digital transformations must be purpose-driven and give value to all stakeholders as a precondition for business success. Thus, the stakeholders’ needs are met without compromising the environment and profit.

Welcome to TiBÉC VII Webpage

Welcome to the official website of the 8th Terengganu International Business and Economics Conference (TiBÉC VIII).  The virtual conference will be held from 30th to 31st October 2023.  TiBÉC VIII is organised by UiTM Cawangan Terengganu was seen as a platform for academicians and practitioners to share relevant knowledge in the field of business and economics. The Terengganu International Business and Economics Conference or TiBÉC was first launched in 2008.  Since it was a tremendous success, the organiser held six more conferences to gain a better understanding of issues in the business and economics disciplines. Our last installment of TiBÉC VII was organised in 2021. TiBÉC conferences had productively published and presented more than 500 papers from various fields in business and management.

One of TiBÉC’s main objectives is to amass academicians, policy makers and practitioners with new findings in the field of finance, accounting, entrepreneurship, marketing, management, economics, operations management & logistics, hospitality, organisational development, Islamic finance & banking, office system management, human resources, international trade and any fields related to business and management.  The conference provides a forum for disseminating information on new practices and techniques in those areas.  TiBÉC has become a stage for exchanging ideas among academicians, policymakers, and practitioners. Consequently, TiBÉC has become an agent to promote a better understanding of contemporary issues and solutions to the challenges in the region as well as the world in relation to the field of business and economics.
Looking forward to your participation in TiBÉC VIII.
