Adjunct Professor Dr. Zaharuddin Abd Rahman has extensive 18 years of corporate, banking and finance experience, including products structure, legal, audit and risk. He is currently a Founding Managing Director of Elzar Group of Companies, which comprises of Myclass Technologies Sdn Bhd [myclasstech.my], Elzar Shariah Solutions Sdn Bhd [elzarshariah.com], ZAZ Software Sdn Bhd (producing Cloud Accounting Software), Mabrook Food Solutions Sdn Bhd (Chicken Slaughtering and Processing plant), Elzar Resources Sdn Bhd (Halal Food & Beverages Producer).

In addition, he has established a number of innovative software solutions in various fields. These include EduTech solutions such as myclaaz.com and mycourse.my, Fintech solutions through iurus.co, Cloud Accounting Software featuring ChatGPT Ai through hisabiz.com, Investor Relationship Manager via neoinves.com, and a platform for Qurban and Aqiqah through myinfaq.

Currently he is also serving as Adjunct Professor at Faculty of Business and Accountancy of UNISEL and previously at UNISZA, a member of Shariah Advisory Council of Securities Commission of Malaysia, Chairman of Shariah Committee of Exim Bank Malaysia, MARA, PUNB, One Connect Technologies, Singapore, UOB Islamic Banking and ONEXOX. He is also a Shariah Consultant for Moomoo Financial Services Singapore, Shariah Committee member of EPF Malaysia (Simpanan Shariah), Zurich Takaful Malaysia Berhad and a former Research Fellow of International Shariah Research Academy (ISRA) and a Shariah Scholar of Bursamarketplace, Bursa Malaysia. He is also a Board member for Urusharta Jemaah Sdn Berhad and UrusHarta Property Management Sdn Bhd. He is also contributing to The Noor Apps as a member of Advisory Board.

He was a member of Board of Directors at University Sultan Zainal Abidin (UNisZA) where he is a Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee and also a member of Finance & Investment Committee of UnisZA; additionally he served Board of Trustee of Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YAPIEM) where he is also a Chairman of Risk Committee. He also appointed as member of Majlis Syura (Consultative Council) of Penang and Perlis Fatwa Council.

Dr Zaharuddin has also been awarded as The World Halal Brand Leadership 2021 by The BrandLaureate Awards, Upcoming Shariah Scholars by Global Islamic Finance Awad 2022 organised by Cambrige Islamic Finance, Tokoh Kembara Takaful 2022 by Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) and Best Global Shariah Advisory Firm 2022 by Global Islamic Finance Awad 2022.
Dr. Zaharuddin served as an Asst. Professor at the Kulliyyah of Economics, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) for more than 10 years. He obtained his degree from University of Malaya, MA in Shariah from Al-Yarmouk University, Jordan and PhD in Islamic Studies and Finance from University of Wales specializing in Islamic Derivatives and Maqasid al-Shariah. He is also a certified Islamic Finance trainer and lecturer by The Markfield Institute of Higher Education, United Kingdom.

His has served RHB Islamic Bank Ltd, Malaysia as a Senior Shariah Manager & Product Development and later, joining Asian Finance Bank Ltd as Head (Vice President) of the Shariah Compliance. He has a vast experience in Shariah, audit and legal where he has served various institutions as Senior Shariah Consultant for Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM), OSK Investment Bank, Deutsche Bank, Al-Rajhi Bank Malaysia, Standard Chartered Saadiq Bank, ACR ReTakaful Bahrain, BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd, CIMB Islamic Bank and others.

His fame in Shariah-conformity and halal-centric proficiency has enabled him to actively impart his quintessential knowhow upon the International stage, touching nations like Singapore, Brunei, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Trinidad Tobago, United Kingdom and the USA.

To-date, he has written over 23 books and hundreds of articles on Islamic Jurisprudence and Islamic Banking and other Shariah matters in journal, including local and international magazines and conferences. He frequently appears in the local television and radio lecturing on various Shariah issues especially with regards to the Islamic commercial transaction.
